As the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity receives inquiries from colleagues across campus about how to meaningfully respond to unrest built on centuries of anti-Black violence, we have compiled a series of articles and other resources to help you be informed and better equipped to engage on this topic (understanding that a number of community members have already been engaging in this work).

We also hope the resources we have assembled will inspire you to begin or continue disrupting anti-Black racism in organizational settings as well as in your daily life.

The Diversity and Inclusion Toolkit has been created to identify best practices for promoting diversity and inclusion at Brown. The toolkit provides guidelines for demonstrating an understanding of compliance, cultural awareness, respect for differences, and coaching for positive change toward inclusive practices for all identities.

This guide was developed by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. The guide is designed to complement the general faculty search process information found in the Handbook of Academic Administration and provides practical tools for incorporating equity and diversity into the search process. We encourage all faculty who will serve on a search committee to become familiar with this information and use it in combination with the University's unconscious bias module training to ensure you conduct a search that is fair and free from bias.

Understanding the Impact of Unconscious Bias in a University Setting: A Module for Faculty and Staff was developed following an iterative process of focus groups with Brown faculty, students and staff and input from several campus partners throughout multiple phases of project development.
