As a benchmark against which to measure progress in diversity and inclusion goals, Brown committed in the DIAP to pursuing more robust and extensive data collection.

In an effort to improve data collection and transparency, Brown's Office of Institutional Research created the Diversity Dashboard, where data are searchable by race/ethnicity and academic fields.

In 2016 and 2018, the Office of Institutional Research in partnership with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity conducted a university-wide campus climate survey. Understanding the shared experiences of specific groups is critical for the University to improve its campus climate for all community members. Moving forward, this survey will be conducted every three years. The University continues to develop evidence-based initiatives in response to climate survey data.
