A facilitated and interactive workshop will give an overview of implicit bias and cultural humility and will provide an interactive session on how to apply these principles in daily interactions. Cultural humility is an attitude and way of being in and responding to the world, rather than cultural competency which focuses on a set of knowledge and skills to be attained. Discussion will help audience members apply the concept of cultural humility when the inevitability of bias plays out in daily personal and professional interactions. Participants will be encouraged to think about how to use cultural humility to better understand the world and others in order to foster more authentic and meaningful relationships.
